Hi! I am Oyin, metalsmith, jewelry designer, and book lover. I fell head over heels in love with jewelry the day my mum taught me how to string a pearl necklace one warm afternoon on her bedroom floor. From that sweet little moment grew a hobby which many years later led me to study the ancient art of jewelry design and blended with the modern process of 3D design and manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing (FIDM) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Over the years running my own jewelry brand, I have come across many people who desire to learn metalsmith ing locally but could not. There is still a lot of room for others within the industry and so I have created The African Jeweler’s Hub to champion growth of the local jewelry industry and open up more opportunities for people to achieve their dreams of making jewelry without the expensive costs involved to study abroad.
We run short courses as well as week long courses and offer Studio Membership options to help you get your feet into the industry.
