Buying jewelry has been one of the most difficult subjects when it comes to men’s styling. The problem with accessorizing for men outside cufflinks or tie bars stems from the idea that rings, chains, and bracelets are designed and worn by women alone. Today, we see more & more that this opinion is changing and men are beginning to discover that they are capable of wearing other accessories whilst still retaining a stylish edge.
The big secret I believe when it comes to success in the jewelry department is my mantra – keeping it simple. That means to look dapper, keep away from the rapper like chains or jaw breaker rings. All you need to keep in mind are the words “Simple & Sophisticated”.
So my top 5 tips on jewelry styling are:
1. Cuff It Up: A pair of stylish cufflinks will add a refined touch to your ensemble. They are a sign of sartorial sophistication and can add a touch of your personality to even the most conservative dress shirts.

2. Beads Beads Beads: Go one step ahead and invest in some beads or wrapped leather and wooven jute to adorn your wrists. The good thing about these sort of ornaments is that you can layer them to add more flair and swagger to your outfit but remember less is more.
3. Skinny Chains: When it comes to chains & necklaces, always think simple, clean or traditional. Male chains tend to be slightly thicker than female chains, so don’t assume you’ve got to buy the heaviest looking piece you can find to inflate your man ego (remember say no to the rapper chains).
Secondly, think about your skin tone when purchasing necklaces. Identify whether you have a warm or cool tone. This can be done by looking at the veins on the inside of your arm. If they are blue, you are probably tend toward a cooler skin tone. If the veins are predominantly green, you have a warm skin tone. Cool skin tones favor silver, platinum, and white gold. Warm skin tones favor gold, pewter, brass, and copper. Compliment colors for warm tones are brown, green, orange, yellow, coral, and turquoise. In all, try to find a suitable balance you are most comfortable with.
