Pantone 2013 Color of the Year – Emerald Green

2013 is finally here and I wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

This year brings us growth, fertility and replenishment.

The color for 2013 as announced by Pantone is Emerald Green, color code –  Pantone 17-5641 Emerald

Why green? “Green is the most abundant hue in nature- the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.” Green is a color with a positive effect on the brain, releasing tension and reducing stress, which is why it is frequently used in color therapy.

Another great thing about the color green is that every skin tone can wear some kind of green, all it takes is a slight shift to make the shade suit perfectly. So if you can’t rock the exact emerald green, you can wear a different shade or even just have an accessory of highlight in your entire outfit.
